Job Description

Location: Milan (3 months) and field project (3 months)
Availability: 6 months from December 2025, full time
Required languages: English and Italian 

The Logistics Intern will work in the Logistics Dek of the Field Operations Department, responsible for direct management of field projects. His/her duties and responsibilities will primarily be to support the logistics needs of the projects and assist the mission Logistician in performing daily activities.

The first period of the internship will take place in EMERGENCY’s Milan office and warehouse, in order to introduce the intern to general and specific training. The remaining period of the internship will take place in one of EMERGENCY’s projects in the field (Afghanistan, Sierra Leone, Sudan or Uganda), where the intern will have the opportunity to apply the knowledge learned and develop logistics skills.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The main tasks of the intern will be to support the following areas:

  • Drafting of guidelines to implement the efficacy and efficiency of logistics processes in the field;
  • Compilinganalysing and designing monitoring files;
  • Managing import/export documentation (pro forma invoicespacking lists, certificates of origin) and shipping procedures, under the supervision of the Shipping Manager;
  • Monitoring shipments until delivery to projects and resolving any critical issues;
  • Inventory and stock control activities in support of the Rho Logistics Hub.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in business/humanities/engineering or similar field
  • Interest in logistics
  • Good knowledge of the English language (B2)
  • Interest in the non-profit world and cooperation
  • Strong practical and reasoning skills
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Flexibility and adaptability
