TECHFUGEES, Empowering displaced persons with technology Founded in 2015 by Mike Butcher, Editor-at-large at TechCrunch, Techfugees is an international organization supporting the rights and inclusion of displaced persons through the development of technology solutions designed by, with and for refugees. Techfugees contributes to the professional inclusion of women refugees in the tech industry through its fellowship programmes and supports the development of #Tech4Refugees projects and startups through Hackathons while spreading the word and displaying concrete examples of how new technologies can be used to improve refugees’ lives, rights and inclusion at Global Summits and meetups. With an online community of 56K followers and 4,000 active volunteers and partners, Techfugees deploys its projects & programmes, programmes and events across the five continents.
